About Us
A convenient location in the heart of picturesque Menton
Menton is a lovely, colorful medieval city in the south of France that has the best of everything: a comfortable climate year-round, beautiful gardens, excellent French and Italian food as well as sandy Mediterranean beaches. With a special micro-climate due to its location at the closest approach of the Alps to the sea, Menton boasts over 316 days of sunshine a year – more sunny days than any other place in France! Even in the depths of winter, people can be seen walking the historic streets in what’s normally considered Springtime clothes. Smaller than Nice and Monte Carlo but larger than Eze or Villefranche, Menton is a true city that still retains an authentic village feel.
Historically, Menton was ruled by the Grimaldi family of Monaco for about 500 years, starting in the mid-1300s. It remained a simple fishing village until the mid 1800s when an English doctor proclaimed the wonderful climate of Menton to be a cure for numerous illnesses. From that point, it attracted a multitude of English and Russian aristocrats who erected extravagant mansions, palaces, and luxury hotels, many of which are still standing today.

Vieille Ville (old town)
The first thing you should do when you arrive in Menton is to take a stroll through the old quarter. Walking from the base near the seaside, you will discover narrow lanes and passageways lined with large pebbles that will take you past quaint buildings washed in pastel yellow, pink, green, and blue. Foliage sprouts from many of the buildings along with window boxes filled with seasonal flowers.
Basilica Saint-Michel-Archange and the Cemetery
When you reach the top of the old town, you will arrive at Basilica Saint-Michel-Archange, a 17th-century cathedral with an ornate, baroque-style facade that was added in 1819. The impressive interior is also done in the baroque style. Don’t miss the original organ from 1866.
Climb to the top of the hill, where you’ll find a peaceful cemetery where many nobles and aristocrats from Russia, England, Germany in the 1800s were buried. It’s the top of the hill and one the highest point of Menton. The Cimetière du Trabuquet is perched up even higher and the views of the harbor and the town are unparalleled.
Public beach
Plage de Fossan
Plage des Sablettes
Plage Rondelli
Private beach resorts (under renovation until May 2024)
The private clubs are located between the sandy beaches of Rondelli and Sablettes between the old port and the one of Garavan.
It’s up to you to choose the private beach closest to your expectations.
